About me

Hello, my name is Lamia Trifi and I am a graduate student at the University of Texas at Austin, USA. I am interested in sociophonetics (special preference for rhotics), phonology, sociolinguistics, and bilingual first language acquisition.

Born in France to Tunisian and French parents, I was very lucky to acquire French and Arabic as my native languages. I started to learn English on my own when I was ten then continued in an academic setting, adding Spanish to the equation. Today, I speak English fluently and I have a fairly good command of Spanish. My knowledge of these languages was enhanced and improved by my studies and my experiences abroad. Thanks to languages, my thirst for cultural exchanges never ceases to kindle my passion for wanting to explore and learn more every day.
